Set up a
Market Stall

Set up a Market Stall

There are two locations for Market Stall holders:

  1. Location #1 – Munro St, Babinda, 8am – 1pm
    • Munro St, Babinda, 8am – 1pm, limited sites available
    • Sites are 2x3m only. 
    • $30 per 2x3m site.  Requirement of multiple sites, means multiple charges for site. 
    • Tables and displays are eligible.
    • NO USE OF MARQUEES allowed. 
    • Bump in between 6am-8am.  Vehicle parking is not permitted on Munro Street. 
    • Bump out after 1pm.  Road closure commences at 1pm and market stall holders may enter street, load car and exit ASAP.  Vehicles must not be in the street after 2pm.

  2. Location #2 – Bill Wakeham Park, 4pm – 9pm
    • Bill Wakeham park – 4pm to 9pm
    • Finishing markets between 7pm & 9pm is permitted, but vendors cannot leave grounds or move vehicles until after 9pm and crowds have dispersed. Likely to be around 9.15pm-9.30pm.
    • Sites are 3x3m.
    • $30 per 3x3m site. Requirement of multiple sites, means multiple charges for site.
    • Bump in from 12pm-2pm. All vehicles must be offsite by 2pm. Bump out time is 9.30pm, following fireworks and exit of pedestrians.
    • Marquees are permitted to be used.


Applications are due by 22nd August or sooner if sites are filled.

From farm-fresh produce to delectable treats crafted with passion and skill, each bite becomes a journey through the essence of Babinda’s harvest. With the festival’s spotlight shining brightly, food stalls become more than just vendors; they transform into destinations, drawing in crowds with delights and unforgettable experiences.

Enter a Float in the Grand Street Parade

This year’s Grand Parade will inspire plenty of ideas, launching you into a world of imagination through our theme ‘Pages Come to Life!’ Find your story, explore your own creativity, deck your floats with all things mysterious, unleash your artistic flair because this parade promises a riot of colour, sparkle, wit and nostalgia.

Whether you’re a local business, community group, school, or organisation, the Grand Parade is your chance to shine in our vibrant town as we celebrate our town, our heritage, and our community.

Come rain or shine, the show must go on in true Babinda fashion, where every day in the tropics brings its own unique charm. We can’t wait to see you at Babinda’s most spectacular event of the year—the Grand Parade!

Cash prizes are awarded for category winners. Judging categories for parade can include, but are not limited to:

  • Champion Float (All Categories)
  • Best school Float
  • Most Humorous
  • Best on Foot
  • Best Preschool float (Kindy/Day Care)
  • Best Sporting Club
  • Best Community Group
  • Best Business Group
  • Best Cultural Group


Judges will look at the following criteria:

  • How well the entry fits with the theme
  • Creativity and overall quality of the presentation
  • Enthusiasm and spirit of float participants

Become a Volunteer

Become a Volunteer

As we approach the upcoming festival, with a new committee working hard behind the scenes, there’s never been a better time to get involved and become part of the team!

Volunteering in a community has some great rewards:

  • To help others and contribute to the community
  • To find new friends and new relationships
  • To help improve the quality of community life
  • To learn new skills and work for a cause

We are non-profit organising committee who love to have new people volunteer and be involved in this great event. So, what do you say? Are you keen to come aboard and frolic in the festival fun?

Volunteer Opportunities

Previous experience is not essential. The festival team will provide support to ensure volunteers feel confident in their roles.

Some of the tasks include:

  • Event assistant
  • Site and equipment assistant
  • Setup and pack up
  • Marshalling and gate entry
  • Set-up of other equipment


Dates and Times

The Annual Festival is held on Saturday the second Saturday in September. We are asking for volunteers to help any time before, during and after the festival, particularly festival weekend from Thursday to Sunday. Any time you can contribute will be greatly appreciated.

We also welcome any community members to join our Committee.
